How can you not know about Gravatar (globally recognize avatar)? That’s my question, but apparently after viewing a few comments on the BusinessPipeline.com site, I have to ask and I have to put the word out there to get your Gravatar!
It’s a free service that puts a face with the name, making sure you stand out as you post on other websites or blog. Consider it your website’s Internet business card, because you can use your picture or a company logo.
This is why I ask how can you not know, and if you do then why wouldn’t you use it to post comments to leverage your dynamic presence?
Pros: There are many free services out there, but how many truly help build your exposure that aren’t social media sites? Gravatar took something you do everyday on the internet and turned it into a value-added no brainer must have. You reap numerous rewards if you take the time to post comments, which honestly you should if you are seeking to be recognized throughout your industry and beyond ask Gary Vaynerchuk. Let’s just face it, it’s the best way to do a shameless self promotion and not be shot down for it.
Cons: Hmmm, you may forget your password since there is no reason to go back to the site. Also, they don’t allow you to setup numerous avatars for all the emails you have — under one account. That would make the service more super fly.
Who should use it? Everyone but I’ll single out business owners who wants to promote their own blog and or website then I can’t see why you don’t have a Gravatar yet.
